Drake Responds to Kendrick Lamar in New Lyric Video “Family Matters”

The trending Rap beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake continues after heated back and forth exchanging.

Originating from Kendrick Lamar’s 'Like That feature‘, the feud has caused a lot of drama in the space causing many artists and fans to choose sides, much like some sort of Avengers film. While a handful of rappers have dissed drake over the past month, Kendrick’s responses have been amongst the most revered. Drake fired back to Kendrick’s single titled “Euphoria”, and “6:16” in L.A” with “Family Matters”.

Addressing topics of race, women, accusations, reputation, hierarchy and ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’s’ van, Drake managed to quickly respond with a three part diss track complete with a creative visual. With some interesting analogies, humor and instrumentals the overall delivery of the message is well received, these two aren’t afraid of getting personal. The rap beef has made for an interesting Spring thus far, promising new music and competitive bars between the two former collaborators.

Strong visual references include the van from the good kid, m.A.A.d city album cover getting crushed at a junkyard and a still shot of a Rolls-Royce Phantom Hearse. Direct responses were given to Kendrick’s latest remarks and they often tied with humor. The Canadian rapper additionally had insults for Rick Ross as well. A few bars include:

“Always rapping like you bout to get the slaves free. You just acting like a activist it's make believe. But you won't even go into your hood and plant money trees”.

“Good kid, maad city van. We'll pop the latch and let the doorslide. Tears running down my cheek laughing at you pussies dying, it's a war cry?”

“Ross calling me the white boy and the shit kind of got a ring to it. Cause all these rappers waiving white flags while the whole fucking club sing to it. Murder scene on your man tonight, then come to the vigil with the candle light. Body after fucking body and you know Rick reading my Miranda Rights.”
