Great music often starts with an unexpected connection. For Bungalow Collect, it wasn’t a studio session or a viral moment that sparked their latest project—it was a pick-up game on a Santa Monica basketball court. That’s where Marcus Isiah and Zay Suav first met Chicago-based producer Wrldfamous KD. A few games turned into conversations, which led to an invitation to Bungalow Collect’s LA studio. By the end of the night, they had “Ainno Rush,” the electrifying focus track for their latest EP, Wrldfamous Bungalow.

“I’ve never felt energy like what we had in that first session,” Zay recalls. “KD played the beat for what would become ‘Ainno Rush,’ and everything just clicked—it was pure synergy.”

That instant chemistry turned into a full project. Wrldfamous Bungalow blends KD’s modern production with Bungalow Collect’s signature fusion of disco, rap, and high-energy anthems. It captures the raw excitement of their creative process while reflecting the ups and downs of navigating the music industry on their own terms.

More Than a Party, More Than a Sound

Bungalow Collect isn’t just about making music—they’re building an entire movement. The group first made waves in 2021 when their single “Tell Me Where to Go” went viral on TikTok, racking up millions of views and turning curious commenters into dedicated fans. But their success isn’t just a byproduct of a lucky algorithm push. They’ve spent years performing at festivals like SXSW and So What! Music Festival, selling out shows in New York, LA, and Orlando, and throwing their own event series, Guest House, which has become a cornerstone of their community.

One of their biggest Guest House events to date took place in November 2024, drawing over 700 people to a coffee shop-turned-club in mid-city LA. The energy from that night spilled over into the studio the next morning, where Marcus and KD locked in to create “Get Like This,” a Miami bass-inspired anthem that channels the chaos and joy of their live shows.

“The music we’re making now isn’t just for the moment,” Marcus says. “We’re creating songs that people will look back on and feel like they lived through them.”

A Blueprint for Independence

Beyond the party-ready production, Wrldfamous Bungalow is a testament to Bungalow Collect’s independence and perseverance. Tracks like “Flexxd Up” and “Deep End” tell the story of navigating an industry that constantly tests artists, pushing them to compromise in exchange for a shortcut to success.

“We learned the game, but we didn’t need a tutor,” Rshad raps on “Flexxd Up,” reinforcing the group’s commitment to creative ownership. Apollo J follows with a hook that captures the skepticism that comes with success: “I can’t let you pass, I don’t know it, I don’t trust you.” It’s a direct response to industry figures who have tried to profit off their momentum without offering real value in return.

On “Deep End,” Zay lays out the group’s journey from fans in the crowd to performers on stage, rapping, “Feel like I’m prime time Deion with the rock, ain’t no damn pressure when you ready for the sequence.” The song encapsulates their mindset—unshaken, prepared, and determined to rise on their own terms.

What’s Next for Bungalow Collect?

With Wrldfamous Bungalow, the collective is expanding their reach while staying rooted in their DIY ethos. Before releasing the project on streaming platforms in January 2025, they gave early access to fans through a partnership with EVEN.BIZ, allowing supporters to stream and download the music before its public release.

The group is also rolling out a series of visuals that showcase their individual styles and the vibrant culture they’ve built around their music. These visuals will lead into Guest House 05, the next installment of their increasingly popular party series.

For Bungalow Collect, Wrldfamous Bungalow isn’t just another project—it’s a statement. It’s proof that disco rap has a place in today’s music landscape, that independence and longevity can go hand in hand, and that sometimes, all it takes to change everything is the right connection at the right time.
