This Fall, Molly McCutcheon was a phenomena in New York City’s art scene with her latest exhibit at The Opening Gallery—a deeply personal showcase that exemplifies her creative growth since her last exhibition in Manhattan. Known for her introspective work that bridges traditional art techniques with digital elements, Molly’s recent show on one of New York’s iconic gallery streets marked an exciting chapter in her career. This time, her journey unfolded in partnership with SuperRare, merging the realms of digital and physical art in a dynamic, contemporary setting.

Molly shared insights into her inspiration, her process, and her vision for the future.“Each exhibit brings something new to the table… My goal is always to be at least 1% better than my previous one,” she explained. Molly's commitment to constant growth is reflected in each piece, pushing her to reach new audiences with every show. Setting her work against the vibrant, contemporary backdrop of New York’s gallery district allowed her to engage with fresh eyes while reconnecting with longtime supporters.

“This was my first time showing on a well-known gallery street in New York, so I knew the organic foot traffic would bring a contemporary crowd,” Molly added. The location offered her the unique opportunity for spontaneous, first-time impressions—a chance she relished as a vital aspect of live exhibitions. Surrounded by supporters who had witnessed her evolution, the show became more than just an exhibit; it was a celebration of her progress and artistic resilience.

As always, with each new exhibit, it’s an opportunity to celebrate growth with the people that have been there from the jump and have witnessed the journey, we did that!”

Collaborating with the digital platform SuperRare for this exhibit introduced Molly to new creative pressures and freedoms. Known for its role in the online art space, SuperRare’s involvement allowed Molly to bridge the digital and physical realms in a fresh way. “It added a new perspective and pressure that pushed me to think outside of the box,” Molly revealed. Although SuperRare is an online platform, their sponsorship demonstrated their commitment to Molly’s vision and brought a new dimension to her artwork.

Through this collaboration, Molly had the chance to showcase her perspective on the synthesis of traditional, brick-and-mortar art spaces with digital innovations. By merging the old and the new, she created a space where the physical presence of her pieces resonated with the ethos of digital culture, reaching a community that spans both the gallery walls and the screens of SuperRare’s global network. “I’m grateful for the opportunity,” she shared, reflecting on how this collaboration expanded her artistic horizons.

Looking to the future, Molly’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down. With Art Basel Miami on the horizon, she’s preparing to bring a selection of her most acclaimed New York works to an international stage. Her busy schedule of solo and group shows over the past six months has fueled her creative fire, but she’s equally excited to reconnect with nature, and draw fresh inspiration from diverse cultures.

“As we head into the new year, I’m aiming to do more international travel,” she said. Molly has also begun experimenting with new mediums, while staying true to her current love for charcoal and pastel. Molly McCutcheon’s latest NYC exhibit is another stamp on her creative visa as she continuously pushes her limits while remaining rooted in her craft. With an insatiable commitment to growth, her career continues to flourish, and audiences everywhere are eager to see where her next chapter unfolds.

Maybe I’ll become so obsessed with the challenges that a new medium presents that there’s no looking back!
