Kira Bursky’s Cinematic Journey Into Digital Art
Kira Bursky is a bold multidisciplinary artist, seamlessly blending her background in filmmaking with a passion for digital art and Non-fungible tokens. Kira’s artistic journey is a testament to the transformative power of embracing new mediums and the creative communities that fuel her endeavors. Her creative odyssey began in childhood with a deep-seated interest in various art forms. Her trajectory had originally led her to filmmaking, where she combined visual art, acting, and music.
“Ever since I was a child, I was interested in all forms of art, from visual art to acting to music and more. Naturally, I was led in the direction of filmmaking, where I could combine all art forms into one. By age 13, I was diving headfirst into the world of filmmaking, and I ended up attending an arts boarding school in Michigan, called Interlochen, where I studied filmmaking in high school for three years. I have run my production company All Around Artsy for over 10 years. I have produced over 60 short films and music videos that have screened and won awards at film festivals internationally. My films have over 16 million views on Youtube.”
Kira's work delves into the complex narrative of mental health, exploring the blurred lines between reality and fantasy. Her storytelling techniques span various mediums, including set design, projection mapping, machine learning, animation, and visual art. Her creative challenge lies in pushing artistic boundaries, weaving an intricate tapestry that reflects the nuanced aspects of the human psyche.
“One of the main stories I like to explore in practically all of my work is the journey of mental health. How do we delineate reality from fantasy? How do emotions distort or color our world? I love to explore new techniques to portray the blending of our inner world with our outer world.” says Kira.
“I was immediately met with encouragement, and within days of getting involved with the community on Twitter I made many incredibly inspiring art friends from around the globe. It felt like we were all on a journey together, all supporting each other, and exchanging tips and tricks as we figured things out. And once I started to make sales, this was a real game changer for my life. It provided me with a sense of freedom, and gave me the ability to pause on my freelance video work to focus exclusively on my own creativity that came directly from my soul.”
Kira's transition to the world of NFT art was sparked by a conversation with her developer brother. The allure of creative exploration, curiosity, and the supportive international artist community was what really drew her in. The NFT space not only provided artistic freedom but also a pathway to financial independence, allowing Kira to focus exclusively on her soul-driven creativity. Collaboration is integral to Kira's artistic process. Through digital collaborations with artists worldwide, she builds a sense of camaraderie and connection. The shared celebration of selling NFTs reinforces the bond between collaborators and the global NFT art community. “The NFT digital art community has provided so many artists the ability to be full-time creatives, follow their dreams and control their own futures. I was fortunate to be one of them! It’s also exciting for collectors to be able to connect directly to the international art community, and sometimes even become friends with the artists they are investing in. It’s a really special space.” Kira states.
One of Kira's noteworthy projects, "Emotion Check-In" involved the creation of 250 unique art pieces reflecting daily emotions. The collection aimed to inspire self-reflection and mental wellness, showcasing the power of art to convey messages of introspection and self-care. “ It was incredibly rewarding to create the art, sell the NFTs, and execute on the overall vision of a daily emotion check in concept. My hope was to inspire others to take time to self reflect and check in with their own souls and hearts. Mental wellness and self care are some of my greatest sources of inspiration.” she exclaims.
