Molly McCutcheon's "Visions" Unveiled at The Tipsy Grape

Amidst the intoxicating aroma of fine wines, Molly McCutcheon's art exhibit, titled "Visions" debuted at The Tipsy Grape Wine Bar in Brooklyn NYC. It was here that patrons were invited to immerse themselves in the captivating world of Molly’s art exhibit, aptly titled "Visions."

McCutcheon, a self-taught, NYC based artist, hailing from a small town in Ohio, has made waves in the art world with her profound understanding of architecture and her refreshingly perplex perspective on consciousness and surrealism. Her journey from the heartland of a small town in Ohio to the unfiltered streets of New York City honors her relentless pursuit of artistic excellence.

At the core of McCutcheon's work lies a deep-seated appreciation for the creative environment. Her experience is nurtured by her academic pursuits in Philosophy and Political Science as well as her background being a former Division 1 women's basketball player. Drawing inspiration from her surroundings, she masterfully captures the essence of often dark, thematic, mind-bending architectural marvels.

“Visions represents an extremely transitional phase of my life; I was nomadic, solo traveling and always in the mountains or on a beach somewhere, I put intentions into being with nature and preparing for whatever was to come next, I knew my ambitions would probably lead my to a city of some sort. The body of work consists of charcoal, pastel, ink, and søme experimental works from late 2022 to late 2023, charcoal especially has become an important material to me because of the amount of intention I feel like I can put behind the fact that it's 100% carbon.. There's a minimalist, dream-like aspect within each piece and that reflects my current philosophy and life experiences, each piece represents a journal entry.” -  Molly McCutcheon

What sets Molly apart is not only her technical prowess but also her willingness to explore the enigmatic terrain of consciousness and surrealism. Through a diverse array of mediums, including charcoal, ink, pastel, and more, she invites viewers to journey beyond the confines of the tangible world and explore the boundless expanse of the human imagination.

McCutcheon's talent has not gone unnoticed in the art world. Her more notable pieces have found homes on SuperRare, a platform connecting fine artists with collectors seeking digital works of art. Additionally, she has been featured in ARCHIV3 Magazine's inaugural issue, AOTM Gallery, Transient Labs, Sit Down With Sniper Podcast, SHILLR Twitter space. The Fine Print and S3 Monthly and was invited to speak on a digital art panel during the ARCHIV3 Wall Street launch party at Station3, solidifying her status as a rising super star in the digital art scene.

The atmosphere surrounding McCutcheon's exhibit at The Tipsy Grape was one of elegance and sophistication. The curated selection of biodynamic and organic wines provided by The Tipsy Grape served as the perfect complement to McCutcheon's art, tantalizing one’s senses and enhancing the overall experience.

“What was it like partnering with The Tipsy Grape for your debut exhibition?”

“For my first traditional opportunity with my work, it has been a match made in heaven. I come from a sports background so having a sense of teamwork in my life is really important and the team chemistry with Tipsy Grape is amazing. I connected with the owners through a friend and immediately noticed they didn't have any art on their walls, but the building had a wonderful ambience that matched the energy of my art. I started to see the visions of how I could add my own visual philosophy to the walls, I even repainted some of the walls to make sure nothing took away from the art and wine experiences. I got back to New York early January, and it has been nothing but hard work since but it has already paid off; we've sold out two events in a matter of one month. I feel like I'm in a flow state of life and I'm grateful and excited to see what the future brings!”

As McCutcheon's "Visions" captivated audiences and ignited the imagination, a slew of recognized artists came out in droves to show their support. Their presence served as a testament to the impact her art has had on the cultural landscape, reaffirming her status in the world of contemporary art.

In "Visions," Molly McCutcheon invites us to embark on a journey of exploration and discovery. Her art is a testament to the transformative power of creativity and the inherent beauty of the human experience. So, if you find yourself in Brooklyn, be sure to visit The Tipsy Grape and experience the mesmerizing world of "Visions" – an experience that leaves an indelible mark on one’s perspective.
